The Progressive Conservative PartyThe Best Team to keep Talossa Free, Strong, and Fun!
|
Introduction |
In 1995 your Progressive Conservative government revitalized Talossa by putting the vast new technology of the Internet at the country's fingertips. Since then, Talossa's population has more than doubled! But one thing hasn't changed -- the PC is still the party that's writing the success story of the vibrant and democratic Kingdom of Talossa. Isn't it ironic that Talossa's oldest party put Talossa on the Internet? Not really -- it's in keeping with our heritage as Progressive Conservatives. Inspired by our decade-old commitment to Democracy, Activity, Monarchy and Patriotism, we "Tories" are always looking for (as Darth Vader put it) "new ways to motivate" Talossans to do more for their adopted country.Welcome to the official homepage of the Progressive Conservative Party of Talossa -- a dynamic, multi-member organization united to keep Talossa free, strong, and fun. This is your introduction to who and what we are -- and it's your invitation to work with us as we build tomorrow's greater Talossa.
You Need Allies |
Helping to shape Talossa's future is really quite simple. All you've got to do is get involved. And the Progressive Conservative Party welcomes your involvement, because the more involved you become, the more the PC will reflect the beliefs and desires of more Talossans. How involved can you become? There is no limit to what you can do with us! There are no boundaries to the influence and contribution you can make. All you need to do is become a member of the Progressive Conservative Party. As a member you can participate in political debates, express your own views, and work towards having those views become part of policy on the provincial or the national level. After all, the party is simply a reflection of the views of its members. The strength of your beliefs and your ability to arouse support from other members determines the impact your views will have. You'll have constant opportunities to mobilize public opinion and help elect yourself and your fellow Tories into government. This is what Talossa is all about! But to really get anywhere, and really make a difference, you need allies -- and that's why joining the Tories is the ideal way to do Talossa.

Party Posturing |
The PC is a microcosm of Talossa. Tories are everywhere -- and we come from all political persuasions, from liberal to conservative. What unites us all is our common commitment to keeping Talossa free, strong, and fun. We believe in working together in a spirit of pragmatism, according to our four fundamental ideals known unpretentiously since 1985 as "DAMP": Democracy, Activity, Monarchy and Patriotism.

Membership |
Talossan citizens and prospective citizens are encouraged to join the PC. If you want to belong to a patriotic national movement full of different perspectives and ideas, then this is your home. All you need to do is send a message to the Party Secretary explaining who you are and what your current citizenship status is. Members of the PC represent Talossa's online and unplugged community alike -- as befits a party that seeks to represent all Talossans. Members and supporters of the PC live and work in virtually every province of Talossa, as well as Canada, Italy, and all across the United States. Current members and supporters of the Progressive Conservative Party are active members of the Talossan Government as well as of Provincial governments and a variety of private organizations. Here are some of the Talossans who want to be on your side: |

Christopher C. Gruber (PC Party Candidate for Prime Minister). One of Talossa's newest citizens--and fastest-rising stars--Chris Gruber hails from Tallahassee, Florida, where he works as a radio news announcer. He's married, and is one of the few Talossans to actually have successfully produced any offspring. Chris joined Talossa in the early part of 1998 and immediately set to work on creating an online journal for Talossan culture, called Vénéneux, and an official home page for Talossa's planned summertime bash, TalossaFest '98 (which he plans to attend, all the way from Florida!) Chris has proven himself to be a moderate with a vision of Talossa interacting with micronations that respect our sovereignty and our heritage, while standing up to "Penguinea" and other more fringe developments in the hobby of micronationalism. Articulate, friendly, and willing to work with people he disagrees with to achieve consensus where consensus is possible--but neither frustrated nor paranoid when none is possible--Gruber will make a fine Prime Minister! |

Weston J. Erni (PC Party President): Governor of Pengöpäts (The Talossan Antarctic Territory), citizen of Vuode Province. Wes is one of Talossa's oldest and most distinguished citizens, having joined the RT back in 1985. Wes served two terms as Prime Minister of Talossa, once as the leader of the Black Hand party in 1986-87, and again as leader of the Progressive Conservatives in 1990-91. He served as a Justice of the Uppermost Cort of Talossa throughout most of the 1990's. Wes brings a number of talents to Talossa, the most notable being his worship of the country's unofficial national entertainer, Gloria Estefan. Erni's approach to Talossa is most concerned with keeping a good sense of humour about the whole thing, and preventing Talossa from crusting over in its own political bickering. Wes works as a world-renowned professional bridge |
